The Platform Nigeria 11.0 with Professor Kingsley Moghalu

All We Need is 10M Nigerians to Change the Current State of Nigeria

The Professor of International Business started by addressing the attitude of the Nigerian Citizens who like to manage (instead of challenging) the Nigerian economic situation. This is something the popular Fela Anikulapokuti called ‘Suffering and Smiling’.

He said that instead of challenging the status quo, Nigerians have decided to manage the injustice, corruption, insurgence, etc. This has however, lower the expectations of so many citizens. We therefore cannot dream again.

The former apex bank governor expressed his anger towards the ruling party and present day politicians. He said, “We are angry at our leaders because they limit our capacity to grow. They know that no matter how angry the citizens are, we believe in our hearts that nothing will change. They are convinced that Nigeria can’t change.”

In sharing his vision for contesting for Presidency in 2019, Professor Kingsley said he wish to correct the ‘Manage-it’ syndrome or mindset that the people have become accustomed to.

He is convinced that nothing will prevent the people from getting the kind of leadership they want. “Nigerians are not stupid”, he said. “They know the current political leaders or parties available who don’t have the capacity or knowledge to solve their problems. They are in in need of a good leader, one who will lead them forward.”

He explained that there is no force more powerful than a people who decide within themselves that enough is enough. “Nothing is impossible; we can all change the state of this nation; we all just have to take a stand and take action.”, said the Professor.

He encouraged the Nigerian elites and middle class to get involved in the upcoming elections and challenged them, not be contented with their personal success while majority of the Nigerian population is in poverty due to an unstable corrupt economy.

“We can change Nigeria. It is possible, all we need is 10 million people across the country who are ready to open their hearts, take risks, spend their money and be committed to the cause of this country. I believe we can do this. We are the custodians of the economic wealth and  success of Nigeria,” he stressed.

The following were his final words;

“Let’s all come together, increase our capacity and collectively shake up the current Nigerian system and hijack power back from our current politicians and change this nation.”
